Bizible vs Dreamdata: A Complete Comparison

One of the many tools that are indispensable for SaaS companies is Marketing Attribution tools. In order to optimize ad campaigns, understand and maximize conversion rates, and assess the success of your marketing efforts, these tools are essential.

In fact, effectively using marketing attribution can increase marketing performance by 15 to 30%.

However, only 22% of businesses think that they’re using the right attribution model. If you’re one of the businesses that are unsure, you should be doing research to find the right attribution tool.

Two tools that you may be considering are Bizible and Dreamdata. Bizible is an older and more established tool, and Dreamdata is a newer tool with more features.

In this article, I’ll outline both tools’ features, advantages, and disadvantages for you to use in your decision-making process.

About Bizible

A marketing attribution tool by Adobe, Bizible was founded in 2011 with the aim of providing B2B and B2C businesses with a holistic view of their customers’ journeys down the SaaS sales funnel. In order to do that, this tool uses omnichannel marketing attribution data and tracking. It also provides users with granular data, pre-built CRM reports and templates, and integrations with other tools such as Salesforce.

Bizible is chosen by businesses for the following capabilities: it’s able to track first touch attribution via its web script, but it’s also possible to go beyond a first-touch attribution model as there are different attribution models available. Bizible is also capable of full-circle reporting. These capabilities make this tool an attractive choice for big SaaS companies looking for a more complex and detailed understanding of their marketing attribution.

Bizible’s Features

The three main categories for Bizible’s features are Touchpoint Tracking, Attribution Modeling and Analytics & Reporting.

  1. Touchpoint Tracking: includes the main features that allow users to view customer journeys, analyze engagement from platforms such as ad providers and CRM via integrations, and view customers’ engagement with each touchpoint.
  2. Attribution Modeling: the features under this category enable users to attribute ROI or revenue to each touchpoint, to create customized attribution reports, and to use the predictive account engagement scoring or ABM attribution capabilities of Bizible.
  3. Analytics and Reporting: Bizible’s dashboard, customizable CRM report and Data Warehouse features are found under this category.

A list of Bizible’s specific features include:

  • ABM attribution
  • Analytics/ROI Tracking
  • Attribution Modeling
  • Boomerang journey stages
  • Conversion Tracking
  • Machine Learning guidance
  • Multi-Touch Attribution
  • Pageview Tracking
  • Predictive Analytics
  • Referral Tracking

Bizible’s Reviews

Bizible has a rating of 4.9/5 based on its 10 reviews at Capterra. It has been rated 4.6/5 for its overall ease of use and 4.8/5 for its customer service. Some of the reviews have stated that:

“It’s changed how our marketing team runs demand generation. Now that we can see each touchpoint (organic, email, organic again, PPC etc.) we can put our creative resources to good use because we know what channels provide the most net new leads.”

“It gives us the ability to do end-to-end attribution, so we understand how leads move through the funnel based on different marketing interventions.”

It’s not very intuitive. You have to have a very strong understanding of Salesforce and your contact fields in order to run any type of report.

Bizible Pricing

Bizible does not have a pricing plan on its webpage, so you need to contact sales and get a set price for your own business. However, the tool does offer a demo and free trial.

What are Bizible’s Advantages?

The Variety of Attribution Models

There are six different models offered by Bizible: first touch, lead creation, U-shaped, W-shaped, full path, and custom. This variety makes it easier for businesses to choose the model that fits their marketing needs, instead of just going with the default first touch attribution model.

The Salesforce Integration

Bizible integrates directly and easily with Salesforce. Salesforce’s reports can easily be used with the different attribution models of Bizible: doing so ensures automatic revenue calculation as well. This integration means that sales teams can access data as well, which ensures transparency and consistency within businesses.

Full Path Attribution

For most users, viewing the marketing spend across the full sales funnel is the biggest reason for choosing Bizible. With this feature, businesses can see what drives revenue other than leads. The Attribution Touchpoints feature of Bizible associates contacts and marketing campaigns with opportunities. This allows businesses to see the ROI of the whole path.

What are Dreamdata’s Advantages?

Rich List of Integrations

The integrations of Dreamdata include HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce, Zoho CRM, Capterra, Google Ads, Zapier, Segment, and more. These integrations are all relatively easy to set up and work smoothly, making data analysis much easier.

The Ability to Run Multiple Reports in One Place

If you generate revenue from multiple sources such as paid ads and content, Dreamdata makes it possible to combine the reports of all of these sources in one place. Dreamdata also connects all of your ads performance to your business revenue, so that you don’t need to patch your marketing efforts together.

The Deal-Inspector Feature

With Dreamdata’s deal-inspector feature, you’re able to clearly see which marketing campaigns and channels are driving revenue. You can also see the journey that led individual customers to conversion, showing each touchpoint. These capabilities help companies build a more focused marketing strategy where they improve the right channels and campaigns.

What are Bizible’s Disadvantages?

Slow and Unresponsive at Times

If you import large data sets or use the SFDC widget of Bizible, the tool may slow down and even become unresponsive. Though this was a bigger problem in the past years, some users still report having this issue.

Certain Features Are Not User Friendly

Although Bizible offers a good set of features, some of them (adding channels, building customizable reports, or filtering the ROI dashboard, for instance) are hard to use. Also, the main problems of users are with Bizible’s UI and UX, which makes the tool hard to use as well.

Misleading Data

Bizible has a 30-minute window for recording attributions: if a lead spends more than 30 minutes on a form, for instance, the attribution will not be given to the right source (it’s given to Web Direct.)

What are Dreamdata’s Disadvantages?

Hard to Ensure Accuracy

Monitoring your data requires effort and it’s hard to ensure that your data is properly calibrated. Validating the setup is also a bit of a challenge. While tools such as Segment offer automatic data validation features, Dreamdata doesn’t have this ability.

Steep Learning Curve

This disadvantage comes with tools that have a wide range of features. Although Dreamdata is known for a good onboarding experience, setting up the tool still requires time. Also, if you’re new to marketing attribution and analysis, the tool can be overwhelming.

Takes Time Until You Can See Trends in Data

Dreamdata can pull historic data, but this requires effort, and if you’re starting with new data, the analytics and trends don’t make sense until you’ve worked with the tool for a sufficient time.

A Better Alternative: HockeyStack

HockeyStack is an end-to-end analytics tool for SaaS companies. With HockeyStack, you can track and analyze data from the product, sales, subscription revenue, and marketing in one tool and get access to hidden insights, such as the LTV of a piece of content, or the churn rate of each marketing channel along with users’ reasons for churn.

You cannot get these insights with a CDP, such as Segment, as you still need to use different tools for different departments and these tools don’t send each other critical metrics.

HockeyStack’s Features

HockeyStack offers these features with no code:

  • Step-by-step user journey
  • Custom dashboards
  • Funnels and goals
  • Attribution analysis
  • Insights
  • Surveys
  • Revenue analytics
  • Segments

and more

HockeyStack Pros and Cons

I might be biased, but this is an objective evaluation of HockeyStack’s pros and cons 🙂

HockeyStack Pros

The unique benefit of HockeyStack is its ability to unify your marketing, revenue, sales, and product data using no code. This allows you to uncover unique insights that you wouldn’t be able to by using multiple tools as they cause you to have fragmented data.

  1. You can integrate with Stripe, Paddle, and Hubspot and build every single dashboard that you can think of, using all sales, marketing, revenue, and product metrics.
  2. You can create funnels, goals, and surveys, which are rare to get with other tools on this list.
  3. You don’t need any developers, tracking is cookieless, and the script is small, so it doesn’t increase your site loading time.

HockeyStack Cons

HockeyStack generally lacks reporting features as it’s not focused on agencies and other reporting-based businesses.

  1. HockeyStack doesn’t have weekly e-mail reports
  2. The tool lacks some integrations, such as Salesforce, Mailchimp, and Zapier. (which are on the roadmap)

The most important aspect of marketing attribution tools is their ability to help you understand the performance of your different marketing sources. However, most tools have similar attribution capabilities, so the differences between tools can be more nuanced. If you’re comparing Dreamdata and Bizible, you’ll want to keep these details and differences in mind:

  • The size of your business: Dreamdata is best for small to mid-size businesses while Bizible is a better option for bigger companies.
  • Dreamdata has more features than Bizible, such as cross-channel attribution, which makes the tool both useful and complex.
  • Both tools require some time and effort to integrate to your business setup. If you’re looking for a less complex tool that can be set up in no time, you should consider HockeyStack.

Choosing the right attribution tool will help you uncover important insights about your data, which is crucial if you want to improve your marketing reach and effectiveness.
