  • Mailchimp
  • Salesforce (coming soon)
  • Zapier (coming soon)

HockeyStack Pros and Cons

HockeyStack Pros

The unique benefit of HockeyStack is its ability to unify your marketing, revenue, sales, and product data using no code. This allows you to uncover unique insights that you wouldn’t be able to by using multiple tools as they cause you to have fragmented data.

  1. You can integrate with Stripe, Paddle, and Hubspot and build every single dashboard that you can think of, using all sales, marketing, revenue, and product metrics.
  2. You can create funnels, goals, and surveys, which are rare to get with other tools on this list.
  3. You don’t need any developers, tracking is cookieless, and the script is small, so it doesn’t increase your site loading time.
  4. Has a free plan.

HockeyStack Cons

HockeyStack generally lacks reporting features as it’s not focused on agencies and other reporting-based businesses.

  • The tool lacks some integrations, such as Salesforce and Zapier. (on the roadmap)

Segment

The chances are, if you are reading this article, you already know what Segment is. Segment is a customer data platform that aims to track your customers’ data and analyze them according to your needs. Although Segment has its alternatives, it is one of the most reliable tools in the field.

Features

Here is a shortlist of the features Segment has:

1. Automated Messages

Segment messages allow you to add Segment scripts to your website or software, enabling you to get constant updates for your platform. These messages can also be designed to be sent to your teammates, allowing further cooperation between you and your team.

2. Personas Created For You

Segment also creates what is called “personas”. These are user profiles classified according to the metrics chosen by Segment. These will allow you to analyze the user patterns more easily. This feature is especially important for increasing your user activation rates

Integrations

Here is a shortlist of integrations of Segment:

  • AB Smartly
  • Alexa
  • Impact
  • Tableau
  • Mode

To learn more about integrations provided by Segment, you can check out their integrations web page.

Pros

1. Great Functionality

Segment allows you to fulfill multiple tasks, simpy data tracking to create specialized tactics to reduce your user churn rate. This functionality is helpful and will enable you to get your money’s worth.

2. Integrations

Segment has a lot of integrations. This advantage is beneficial if you are a more prominent company that needs multiple integrations to get a clear view of your customer base.

Cons

1. It’s Expensive.

Segment is expensive. There is no way around it. Despite providing free alternatives, you have to spend money on Segment to gain an edge over your competitors since most of the features are behind a payment block. Many reviews also talk about this problem.

2. Segment could be hard to adapt to

Many customers complain that it might be hard to learn how to use Segment. However, this is not only limited to learning Segment. Even if you already know how to use Segment but want to import or export your data, it is an arduous process to go through.
I have to say that Segment is not accessible to new users that want to change their software.

Pricing

Segment provides three different packages. These are called Free, Team, and Business.

Reviews

Here are some user reviews for Segment:

From G2 Review Page

“The tool allows to “spy” on user behaviors; see where they spend time, which links they click the most, and which areas they avoid. Inserting little code snippets to specific areas of the page helps to track the trajectory of the click-throughs. It was a real revelation to see that graphics and text I liked the most users avoided completely! I also liked that even being a non-programmer, you can accomplish some tracking.”

From G2 Review Page

“Coming into a new role it’s always daunting having to learn a new platform or program, however, the easy-to-use functionality and ability to integrate Twilio helps streamline all those time-consuming tasks that can take you away from the end goal.”

From Capterra Review Page

“It is pricy: the cost is based on the average number of single users tracked per month and it’s not cheap at all. So better to understand exactly how it can help you grow your business (and how you can fully exploit it) before you decide to adopt it.”

Almost all of the user reviews agree that Segment is expensive. Although this might not be a problem if you are a big company with enough financial power to subscribe to Segment, this disadvantage should make small and medium scale businesses to steer clear from Segment.

However, users that use or used the Segment agree that you will get your money’s worth. The different features Segment provides and its efficiency allows you to increase your efficiency with marketing. Integrations also help to justify the overall price.

Rudderstack

Rudderstack is a data storage and analyzing software that aims to smooth out customer interactions. Rudderstack is one of the relatively new companies in this field, founded in 2019.

Features

1. Cloud Storage

Rudderstack stores your data in a cloud storage, meaning there won’t be any data loss since it is uploaded to a cloud service online. This feature applies both to your general data and the modifications you make meanwhile.

2. Live Debugger

Rudderstack employs an AI system to help you with bugs you can encounter. You can write your problems, and the AI will look up previous problems faced by other users to answer your new issues.

Integrations

Here is a short list of integrations Rudderstack has:

  • Firebase
  • MinIO
  • Slack
  • MailChimp
  • Fullstory

If you want to learn more about the integrations Rudderstack has, you can check out their integrations page.

Pros

1. Built by data engineers

Rudderstack is built by Data engineers, meaning they know what SaaS companies need regarding data analyzing. This attitude also considers the problems you might encounter and aims to solve them prematurely.

2. Good interface

Many reviews talk about how good the interface is. This is because of the design choices the Rudderstack team has made while developing their product. However, please note that although the interface is solid, it lacks customization options.

Cons

1. Prone to Crashes

The problem with Rudderstack is that it is prone to crashes. This problem worsens if you decide to conduct more complicated tasks with Rudderstack. This problem primarily affects more prominent companies that need to run more extensive data processes.

Pricing

Rudderstack offers three different packages titled Free, Pro and Enterprise.

Reviews

From Remote Tools
From Marketing Arsenal

“Still, for those companies that really want to be in total control of their customer data, RudderStack is a better (the only?) choice—one could even opt to self-host RudderStack’s open-source platform.”

Unfortunately, there are not many reviews for RudderStack, meaning it is not possible to make a comprehensive analysis of it according to the customer base. However, the reviews that exist talk about how strong the security system of RudderStack is. This situation is only natural considering data engineers developed RudderStack.
Also, the few reviews that exist talk about how the features integrate well with the entire system they use. Combining security with functionality is no easy thing, but RudderStack seems to achieve this.

Liveramp

Liveramp is a data connectivity platform that aims to simplify your entire data processing process. The company was founded in 2011, making it one of the oldest tools in this article.

Features

1. Addressable Reach

Liveramp allows you to follow your audience, group them and calculate which sections of your audience would be best suited for your marketing strategies. This feature is vital for calculating your marketing reach.

2. Protect Your Privacy

Liveramp employs new privacy protection tools to store your data. By utilizing Liveramp, you will be able to keep your data away from watchful eyes that might want to access it. This sort of data security is critical in a world where customers care about protecting their data from hackers.

Integrations

Here is a shortlist of integrations provided by Liveramp

  • Adara
  • Adstra
  • Applift
  • ComCast
  • Delve

You can learn more about integrations Liveramp provides by checking out its integrations web page.

Pros

1. Good Customer Support

Many reviewers talk about how good the customer service has been while dealing with their problems. Considering the different payment methods utilized by Liveramp, this is nothing to be surprised about.

Liveramp makes sure that you are at the center of their attention while using their product, let that be about your data security or your interaction with customer service.

2. Responsive Software

Most of the users agree that Liveramp is a very receptive software. It can bend and change according to your needs. One company can use Liveramp to track its email marketing metrics, while another could use it to increase its marketing reach

Cons

1. Interface might be clunky

The user interface of the Liveramp is lacking, saying the least. It lacks customization options, and the vanilla interface you get is not user-friendly, to put it lightly.

Pricing

Unlike other tools mentioned in this article, Liveramp provides different pricing methods, and you need to contact their customer service to get specialized info for your software.

Reviews

From Capterra Review Page

Liveramp data store has allowed us to further fine tune our targeting. activating predefined audiences that have drastically lowered our costs. It is very easy to search around and find what you need but getting it to the desired platform is a bit of a round robin.”

From Capterra Review Page

“LiveRamp has the best data onboarding technology and identity link match rates in the market. They also offer a comprehensive data store and integrate with all media buying platforms.”

From G2 Review Page

“Sometimes audiences can take a little while to update on the user’s end who is receiving the audience. It has taken up to 72 hrs for audiences to be uploaded to a vendor’s FB account.”

Almost all of the user reviews talk about how many integrations Liveramp has. Although it is not comparable to the segment, Liveramp provides plenty of integrations for you to utilize. This is especially useful for more prominent companies that need to operate with multiple software to reach their relatively more extensive user base.

Another thing emphasized by the reviewers is that Liveramp has a bit of an update problem. Data is not constantly updated, and your necessary metrics can take up to a few days to update.

Multiple customers talk about how their entire interaction with the customer service has been toxic. From unanswered calls to delayed processes, interacting with the customer service of Panoply can be more than a chore.

2. Fake Ratings

In addition to the abovementioned con, there are multiple claims regarding Panoply “convincing” its users to give 5-star reviews. So far Panoply team has made no explanations regarding these accusations.

Pricing

Panoply offers three different packages called the starter, pro, and expert. You can get a discount for all of these packages if you decide to make a subscription for a year.

Reviews

From G2 Review Page

“In order to exit the contract 9 months early, the client success member we were in touch with asked us to leave a 5 star review on this site. We did the 5 star review and ammended our contract, and now the billing department is sending our company invoices the nonammended contract payments for the past few months.”

From G2 Review Page

“I have tried various systems over the years from full fledged reporting for eCommerce through to my own Amazon Red Shift. However none of them could allow me to easily manage the complexity of multiple data sources and had flexibility.”

From Capterra Review Page

“The support team behind Panoply is very helpful.”

Before talking about anything, I will talk about the elephant in the room. Getting your customers to “give” you reviews should not be underestimated. If these comments reflect the truth, I recommend you steer clear of Panoply.
However, it is not all bad. Many customers talk about how the interface is flexible and suitable for companies of all sizes. Although please note that without making sure that these comments are legitimate, it is not accurate to take them into your consideration.
Panoply has a 4 out of 5 in Capterra and a 4.5 out of 5 in G2.

Tealium

Tealium was founded in 2011 in San Diego, California, USA.

Having a high user churn rate is always problematic for SaaS companies. Tealium will send you “unhappy signals before customers start leaving. This dynamic warning system keeps track of what your users have done before leaving and warns you of similar signs.

Integrations

Here is a shortlist of integrations Tealium has:

  • Bronto
  • CleverTap
  • Confirmit
  • Digioh
  • Klenty

If you want to learn more about integrations provided by Tealium, you can check out their integrations web page.

Pros

1. Versatility

As you could have guessed from real-time updates, Tealium is a versatile product that can adapt to any need you have. This advantage goes hand-in-hand with how customizable the entire product is. You can simply design Tealium to suit any possible needs you can have.

2. Good Customer Service

As you will see below, many of the reviewers talk about how good the customer service is. Although there might be some short-comings here and there, the overall customer service you will get from Tealium is pretty good.
Having good customer service is especially important if you are a new company that will require a lot of support for setting your software. This feature makes Tealium the choice for new and old businesses alike.

Cons

1.Tealium Can be confusing

Since Tealium is such a versatile software, it can sometimes be unclear. The degree of customization you have can result in you getting confused. This situation can be especially problematic if you are new to the SaaS data sector.
H

owever, compared to some of the cons Tealium could have had compared to its competitors, this is not something that will affect your overall Tealium experience. So this is not a big con on Tealium’s part. Also,, their customer support will help you reduce the annoyance you will have due to this problem.

2.Steep Learning Curve

In addition to the confusion I mentioned in the first con, there is a problem of a steep learning curve. The number of features and how they can be implemented is hard to grasp at first glance. If you consider this product, make sure that you dedicate enough time and resources to understanding it.

Pricing

Tealium does not provide any info for pricing. It would help if you got in touch with their customer support to create a specific plan.

From Tealium

Reviews

From G2 Review Page

“The functionally rich platform can be a bit daunting at first although, the awesome service support covers this well.”

From G2 Review Page

“What do you like?”

“The technical support, especially with a small team. Ability to work with other vendors in the marketplace and have technical support communicate with vendors regarding issues.”

From Capterra Review Page

“Tealium can do a lot. It’s built to meet the needs of a lot of different industries. That flexibility leads to complexity, and learning to take advantage of this tool is hard.”

Many of the reviewers talk about how many features Tealium is plenty, but it can be a shortcoming if you do not know how to utilize it. There are also comments regarding how good the customer service is, and they have been helpful with the entire setup process.
Many users talk about how good the product is with its versatility and seemingly unlimited customization options. This is why Tealium gets a 4.3 out of 5 in both Capterra and G2.
